Director of Pre-Construction Services
Kirk oversees the production and delivery of timely, accurate estimates that help customers make sound planning decisions.
After reviewing a project’s initial drawings and specifications, Kirk and his team assess the scope of work, including the HVAC systems involved. Then they calculate the man-hour costs and obtain equipment estimates from vendors.
After pricing is complete, Kirk reviews the proposed pricing with the customer, confirms that the HVAC scope of work is complete, and, if necessary, makes appropriate revisions.
Kirk then meets with the Heritage construction team to explain the basis for each project estimate and any special technical, scheduling, or financial considerations that are necessary to complete the work in accordance with the customer’s highest expectations. He then purchases the HVAC equipment and awards subcontracts.
In addition, Kirk maintains close contact with a wide range of general contractors, keeping them abreast of the many ways Heritage can help them deliver the HVAC component of their projects more efficiently, while satisfying their customer’s budgeting and scheduling demands.
Kirk joined Heritage in 1999, and since then has created estimates for a wide array of projects. He was instrumental in designing and deploying the company’s computerized estimating systems, which he continues to oversee.
In 2007, he was promoted to Chief Estimator, and in 2009 he assumed his current position.
